The lady beetle, lady bug or lady bird is most children’s favorite bug and is completely unmistakably in appearance. Most versions of this emoji are quite realistic and show the rounded red body with black spots, black head with white eye markings and six black legs. It has no particular assigned meaning except its literal one. It can be combined with other bug, flower or nature emojis to create a springtime, garden or wild feel. It has an additional association with the children’s Ladybird books, and will sometimes be used in that context, especially in social media marketing by that company!
